In 2005 James Engineering Pty Ltd was commissioned by Ipower Solutions, a Brisbane based Turnkey electrical contractor, to design manufacture and deliver 11 large transportable substations

Ipower utilised James Engineering's facilities for installation and testing of large volumes of specialist electrical equipment prior to delivery to site

This project created some unusual challenges, not the least being the need for several of the substations to be designed to fit under existing structures on the site, an issue which arose after award of the contract. In a particular instance there was less than 10 centimetres of space to work with. James Engineering Pty Ltd unique design and transport solution allowed this potentially serious problem to be overcome with a minimum of cost and disruption to the clients program. The project also required an unusually structurally strong 7.0m wide control room which was constructed and delivered to site as a single unit

Sepon Copper Mine -Laos

In 2004 James Engineering Pty Ltd partnered with Plummer's Industries, a Perth based specialist Switchgear supplier to undertake the design and manufacture of 7 transportable substations for the Sepon Copper Mine in northern Laos.

The project provided some significant logistical issues, the most critical being how to build a Switchroom (some exceeded 23m x 4.5m in overall size and included a 2 storey building) that was strong enough to withstand unloading/reloading at three different ports (i.e. Brisbane/Singapore/Thailand), with unknown equipment, and then travel some 300klms over mainly dirt and underdeveloped roads without damaging the extremely sensitive equipment which had been installed and precommissioned in Brisbane

James Engineering Pty Ltd innovative design allowed all of the buildings to reach site without the slightest damage, and exceeded the client's expectations in all areas
